ISABELLE JIA
is a Chinese-American writer, model, and student from the San Francisco Bay Area, CA. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in Glass: A Journal of Poetry, Darkhouse Books, Alexandria Quarterly, The Blueshift Journal, Rising Phoenix Review among others. She is a California Arts Scholar and has been further recognized by the Walt Whitman National Poetry Foundation, Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, and Hollins University. Her media and graphic design has been featured byClaremont McKenna College, Plug and Play Tech Center, H Collective, Comeback Magazine, Bon Appétit Management Company, and more.
Isabelle currently studies Psychology & Leadership Studies at Claremont McKenna College and recently wrapped up a 6-month internship at Handshake, as a Content Marketing Intern (Summer) and Product Marketing & Social Intern (Fall). On campus she is involved with CMC's Randall Lewis Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, CMC's Office of Annual Giving, the Asian Pacific American Mentorship Program, and Claremont Apparel.
She has studied fiction under Alexandra Madison an Alumni of the Iowa Writer's Workshop and poetry under author Jennifer Givhan, Kirk Glaser, and Professor Hilary Darling of the California Institute of the Arts.
